Behind the Academy

I'm Evangelia, with 20 years building scalable frontend web applications, from full-stack to semantic layers and interoperability, specialising in frontend engineering at scale.

I led frontend development for an AI platform at ETH spin-off Modulos, implemented IAM at Elastic Cloud, built a full-stack mobile app for NATO, developed an LMS for Swiss banks, and contributed scripts for Google Assistant.

As a key contributor to the mEducator Schema, with datasets on the Linked Open Data Cloud, I bring semantic web expertise to deliver personalised learning through AI.

Alongside engineering, I've studied cognitive load theory — the science of how the brain processes and retains information. It shapes how every course here is designed, from sequencing and chunking concepts to structuring complexity, so the curriculum is built with learning in mind, not just content.

Knowledge is a social good. Vygotsky built his theory on it, I built Philomath on it. What I know should compound through every engineer I reach, at the intersection of engineering depth, learning science, and a data-driven, AI-enhanced economy.

Knowledge gave me a more comfortable life, the freedom to travel, live across continents, and choose meaningful work. That's the drive behind Philomath: giving engineers the depth and the drive to change their own lives.
